Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, ashamed or restless. Depressed mood may not require any professional treatment.
If you feel like you are depressed,
1. Hangout with your friends
Depression is the most common mental health problem to young people. You should stay active and stay connected to your friends. That makes you feel alive. Always try to be happy and enjoy with others except being in a dark room all alone. Don’t stay in bed, nap or lie around all day. Talk with your friends as usual. It’s better to go for a movie but remember don’t watch sad love stories or else horror movies because it will make you feel worse than ever. You should have more fun but don’t turn to alcohol or other drugs.
2. Have a deep conversation with your closest one
It’s really important to share your feelings with someone. So talk to a person you trust because keeping it to yourself only makes things worse. Talk what effects to you to be depressed or stressed. Even it’s okay to cry because releasing your feelings are much important in this situation. Always talk with someone who takes your feelings seriously otherwise you will feel guilty. With now a day technology basically you can keep in touch with that person. Don’t try to be alone or over think.
3. Physical health
You may think that why should you have to concern about your physical health. Actually physical wealth is the most precious thing because it’s the key of mental wealth. You should exercise and eat well to keep your body in balance. Remember it will help to you more than you ever think. Sometimes if you are depressed you want to eat more than usual or else you are not interested to eat. To keep a good physical wealth, you should have to eat well. By the way sleeping is the other main thing that makes you feel better but you should get enough sleep. Sleeping all the time also can effect to your physical wealth.
4. Set some goals
You may feel like the world on your shoulder and also trouble concentrating. Now it’s time to be positive. Start doing your day to day work as usual. Always think that you can do it. Write down why you feel low and what you can do for it. You should create a new beginning. Don’t lay in the bed whole day and think what you can do. Thinking all the time cannot make you feel better. Keep doing things that you are interested in. Draw, listen to the music, dance or else do anything you like. It will relax your mind for a moment.
5. Yourself first
‘Love yourself’, if you cannot love yourself how could you able to love another? It’s not possible so start loving yourself and be proud of everything that you do, even your mistakes. Stop being unhappy with yourself. You should feel confident and be comfortable with your life.
Must remember suicide is not an answer to your problems. Even alcohol or either drugs are not an answer to your problems. You are blessed to be a human. You have that amazing power to change the world. The more you love yourself, the more love you can give to others. Keep smiling because life is beautiful and there’s so much to smile about.
